Halad ni Leon Kilat 42K

I can feel the increasing pressure of TNF100 2014 so I decided to join this year's HLK Marathon. It's just days before that biggest event yet (in my running bucket list). Once again I'm crossing my fingers in the hope of actually finishing it within cut-off time.  My training is never been that good once again.  On and off with no proper training schedule being followed.  So as part of the so-called training I should say, I registered on the last day of the registration period.

As per Meyux, I should at least experience more than 24 hours of being awake and see how my body responds to it.  So there's no better way to do it than join a marathon right after my work shift.

Red Cross Marathon

I know that it's a gutsy-dumb idea to run 42K without proper training.  But I did it anyway and so I suffered.

This event was supposed to happen on Nov. 10 where my friend Ronnel was the registered runner.  But because of super typhoon Yolanda that hit the country, it was moved to a later date.  After the typhoon has calmed down, Ronnel went to his province where it was one of the areas that was badly hit.  And so his training was halted but he did not tell me in advance that he won't be joining the run anymore.

Cebu City Marathon 2013

I 'll try to remember as much as I can since it's now more than 3 months since my fastest marathon to date, plus it was on my running sandal.  I was hesitant at first because I have never used that sandal over 30K even in practice runs.  The idea was to listen to my body and follow a comfortable pace.

Did my 1st Marathon in 6:09:49

I was already expecting a slow finish after quite a number of "did not run" days immediately after the 50K UltraMarathon.  Plus December came when our "yayas" had their

Bring it On... 1st Kawasan Marathon...

I'm praying and hoping to finish this run with a new PR.  If everything goes well as planned, then that would be a 5:10:00-hour time.  I have logged more miles prior to this run than last Cebu Marathon (2011) so hopefully it would pay-off.

this last weeks' prep:
Today: 10K run
Sunday: 21K LSD
Monday: 2-hour whole body massage + 8 hour sleep {no more late night movies}
Tuesday: 30-minute slow jog, Nilagang Baka+Camote, B-Complex, + 8 hour sleep
Wednesday: 30-minute slow jog, Nilagang Baka+Lugaw, B-Complex, + 8 hour sleep
Thursday: 30-minute slow jog, Nilagang Baka+Camote, B-Complex, + 8 hour sleep
Friday: Spagetti and Pizza, B-Complex, + 8 hours sleep
Saturday: Haircut then Chillax
Sunday: Come-What-May

Good luck to all those who are also joining this race.
